The city of izmit just lies to the east of Istanbul, Turkey's largest city. Now by using RFID waste bin tag and mapping technology to optimize its urban garbage collection and processing. The Izmit municipal household waste department deployed RFID to create a digital map-based solution to improve public services and enhance the quality and efficiency of collection services.

RFID waste bin tag is installed on each bin for used to mark the location of the trash on a digital map. Each smart tag is screwed, welded or epoxy adhesive installed on the garbage can. The RFID reader is installed in the back of the garbage truck, which is usually emptied at this location. When reading the tag on the trash, the system will transmit the current location information and data of the garbage truck to the host server via GSM.

Through these information, Izmit municipal household waste unit can track which garbage truck picked up every trash in time. This will help companies optimize the collection route. Izmit can set up a chart of the number of bins for disposal. Staff can see the interval time of garbage collection, the total number of garbage cans on the map and the total number of bins that have been collected.

The color code on the map shows the status of all trash cans. For example, red indicates that the trash bin has not been dumped for more than 48 hours.

Izmit can generate reports indicating the average capacity of each garbage truck and the historical route. You can also view and manage routes to determine the distance of each garbage truck. After clearing the trash, the client sidewill receive a text message reminder.

By using smart maps and routes, companies can cut the route of 110 kilometers to 70 kilometers. By reducing the travel time on each route can save 25% of the fuel. The system also helps to identify areas where the number of trash cans is insufficient, thus making a more rational distribution of trash cans.

In addition, RFID systems can also help businesses and subcontractors manage and daily automated process statistics, and daily notifications of bin inventory information and trash can location changes.
