In recent months, the US Ski Team (USST) jacket made by the Spyder Active Sports brand is starting to use NFC technology to provide customers with jackets, ski teams and information on local ski resorts. At present, the system is in an experimental phase, each jacket is built with an NFC label. Consumers can use the smartphone and the NFC tablet to read tag information in the store. Through Youtube, Twitter and other social media to interact and learn about related information.

Spyder is a ski and functional clothing and accessories brand managed by Global Brands Group, sponsored by the American ski team for 27 years. Julia Hansen, president and CEO of Spyder Active Sports, said: Spyder has always been committed to providing technical innovation and fashionable clothing since the first ski sweater was launched in 1978.

Hansen said: We looked for the unique Spyder consumer experience. Few clothing brands will provide customers with interactive technical channels. Our consumers are an extension of the brand and their interaction with us is a very valuable experience for us.

Recently, the company decided to start testing an NFC technology in a small series of products and plans to expand the use of the technology. Hansen said: The NFC technology used in the clothing of the US ski team, which will help us test how to apply the technology to other types of clothing.

Corey Wilson, vice president of global operations at Smartrac, said: The solution used the Smartrac Dura NFC tag and the Smart Cosmos platform and Smartrac CX software. At the same time we have achieved a collaborative relationship with the mobile marketing company Blue Bite. Users can interact with the NFC tag without application, only an integrated NFC chip or smartphone is required.

When the user uses the NFC phone's brush label, the reader goes to the Spyder page when he reads the unique ID number of the label. On this page, the user can read the information of USST and its members and get information about the ski resort near that location. After purchasing a jacket, the consumer can read the label, register on the jumping site. At the same time, consumers can also check the purchase history.

Spyder can use Smartrac's Smart Cosmos software and Blue Bite software to refresh the page, share new content for consumers, the wearer of the jacket and their friends.

Smartrac has also developed a range of washable and wearable labels, which can be incorporated into a variety of products. "Our Dura NFC products are able to meet a wide range of stringent washing and abrasion requirements," he said.

The clothing series is launched this year at the Ski World Cup. Hanson said: "the technology will have many possible effects on our brand. We believe that in the future there will be a further use of NFC technology in products".
